Over the past week, the South Eastman Rotary Club has been overwhelmed by the generosity and compassion shown by our community. In response to the needs of wildfire evacuees, we launched a donation drive to collect essential supplies—and the response has been nothing short of incredible.

Donation Drop-Offs at Southeast Event Centre Until July 7

If you still wish to contribute, donations will be accepted at the Southeast Event Centre until Monday, July 7. After that date, the collection bins will be removed.

For those who still wish to support evacuees after July 7, donations can be brought to the Steinbach Family Resource Centre. However, as many evacuees begin to return home, the immediate need for supplies has largely been met.

We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped spread the word. Your support made a real difference in a time of urgent need.

Updates on Other Donation Locations

We have confirmed that the Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) is no longer accepting donations.

However, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO) is still accepting specific donations at 1700 Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg, from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are currently in need of:

  • Microwaveable food items
  • Bottled water
  • Diapers
  • Baby formula

We are also awaiting a response from the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) and will share updates as soon as we receive them.

Again, thank you for standing together as a community to support those impacted by the wildfires. Your kindness continues to make a difference.
