Steinbach, MB — The Rotary Club of South Eastman is proud to launch its new Nutrition on Weekends (NOW) program, addressing a critical gap in local food support for children.

In partnership with Soup’s On, the NOW program will provide monthly snack bags to children who currently receive school-day meal support but have limited access to food on weekends. Each bag will be thoughtfully prepared to include three nutritious snacks per day for eight weekend days, helping ensure consistent access to food beyond the school week.

The program will begin as a pilot serving 25 children, with distribution taking place alongside a monthly Soup’s On Friday meal service. The goal is to provide reliable, dignified support while building a sustainable model that can grow with community involvement.

“NOW is about filling the gaps we know exist,” said a representative from the Rotary Club of South Eastman. “By working together, we can make sure kids have what they need—not just during the week, but every day.”

Community members, businesses, and volunteers are invited to support the program through donations, sponsorship, or hands-on involvement.
