South Eastman Rotary heard from Executive Director of Red Rock Bible Camp Chris Marchand at their first meeting of 2019. Chris' experience in the social justice system as a young offender took him down a dangerous path. Today he is grateful for the influence of non-traditional Christians, and has dedicated his work life to helping provide youth of Manitoba with the social assets they need to avoid a life of addiction and crime.
Red Rock engages youth during their one week stay and envelops them in the love of community and the love of Christ. The camp continues their influence in children's lives, building relationships based on faith and trust, and reaching out to each youth throughout the year, re-engaging them through sports, activities and eventually their leadership intern program.
In a society where addiction is Rampant, Red Rock is a rare organization that offers prevention and skill development for the resilience against the risks many youth face.
On behalf of Rotary Club of South Eastman, we want to thank Chris for sharing the work being done at Red Rock Bible Camp.
