Providing Life Saving Supplies And Shelter

Ron Noseworthy of Shelterbox was our latest guest speaker, he says Shelterbox tries to respond to disasters across the globe within the first 48-72 hours if not sooner.  This was the case when super typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines in 2013.  Noseworthy shared pictures of the hardships faced by residents of post disaster areas like the Philippines and gave Rotarians a better understanding of how Shelterbox works to ensure those left without vital necessities like food,water and of course shelter, can benefit from the work they do. 

Rotary is a project partner with Shelterbox and Noseworthy pointed out a number of people involved with the Shelterbox team are Rotarians. 

As Shelterbox is mostly comprised by volunteers, Noseworthy says they rely heavily on donations in order to provide to areas in great need.
