At the Club's lunch meeting on October 16 at Mennonite Heritage Village, the preparations for the DARE Luncheon were discussed. The meeting also featured a cheque presentation and a Craft Talk by a new member.
After going through the updates abour Club Business, Club President Cornie was joined by Past President Krista to present a cheque for $3000 to Glen Klassen on behalf of the Manitoba Mennonite Historical Society. The amount is to be earmarked for providing a Peace Pole, and Point of Interest signage on The Peace Trail.
Kris Ontong, one of the Club's new members, gave an informative look at how he and his wife, Peegy, have made it their mission in both work and life, to get involved in the community and make a difference where they are. Kris has made it his career to assist immigrants and refugees in having a sense of belonging. Club members are excited for all the expertise and energy that Kris is bringing to the Club.
